“To the degree that you allow yourself the depth of your feelings – any and all of them - like a sine curve – you invite the exact magnitude of opposites. Want to experience ecstasy? Allow the rage. If you don’t allow the depth out of fear or judgement - you ultimately flatline – so little sorrow then so little joy” Raiana Golden

I ran across this lovely contemplation on personal freedom at one of my favorite sites – Rob Brezsny’s Free Will Astrology – Enjoy!

My old philosophy professor Norman O. Brown would periodically interrupt his lectures, tilt his head upward as if tuning in to the whisper of some heavenly voice, and announce in a puckish tone, “It’s time for your irregular reminder: We’re already living after the end of the world. No need to fret anymore.”
The implication was that the worst had already happened. We had lost much of the cultural riches that had given humans meaning for centuries. All that was going to be taken from us had already been taken.
On the bright side, that meant we were utterly free to reinvent ourselves. Living amidst the emptiness, we had nowhere to go but up. What remained was alienating, but it was also fresh.
Working from the hypothesis that you’re living after the end of the world, what are you free to do that you weren’t able to do before? Who are you free to be?”
The preceding oracle comes from my book, PRONOIA Is the Antidote for Paranoia: How the Whole World Is Conspiring to Shower You with Blessings.

What if nothing was good or bad? What if we dispensed with judgement of ourselves and others and see all as simply a series of choices along the continuum of human experience?
Would we be happier?
Introducing my newest addition to “Get A Life” Resources

The “Get Inspired to Create a Life” page showcases resources I find particularly inspiring and useful in my journey to get off the habitrail of my conditioned and programmed thought highway and create my life - defined by me.
This page will be ever evolving as I discover, uncover and trip over new and interesting material. Check it out on the Get A Life Resources link header and let me know what you think.

I think when we sigh we are like whales….
Expelling a tightly held breath
under the weight of the sea,
of captured dreams
locked in our vaults at the bottom of an ocean of conformity….
And you see – we can’t hold our soul’s breath that long
The length of a lifetime repressed…
We need to come up for air
Or we die -

I’m sorry – I just can’t sit still long enough to meditate in the traditional sense. I try. I’ve tried for years. I believe in the benefits of meditation. Reduced stress, connecting to your inner knowing, getting to that still small voice, raising your vibration, raising your consciousness – getting connected and plugged into the matrix – the All That Is. Basically getting to that centered happy place where everything is right and ripe with possibility. The best I’ve been able to do though is about 5 minutes – and then - I just get squirmy. And then I’d get sad…..or mad. Are all the bennies of meditating going to be lost for me just because I’m hopeless at it? I mean – how fair is that?? There had to be another form of meditation that would garner the same results but allow me to be Me.

Ahhhhh….I rediscovered Rock Balancing. Years ago I did it for fun. I thought it was the height of cool and awe to look inbetween the two balanced rocks and see one maybe two pinpoints of connection and a whole lot of light streaming through. That the seemingly impossible was possible – I mean – doesn’t that look impossible? Yet – it is…
It dawned on me that it was a perfect analogy for seeking divine connection and light. That what I percieve to be impossible in my life was actually quite possible… With the added bonus of not having to sit still - I can use my whole mind/body/spirit, I am out in nature and I get a piece of incredible art to ponder when I’m done – and leave for someone else’s enjoyment. The meditative aspect for me is that unless I am absolutely present when balancing rock upon rock – it’s just not going to happen. I’m not going to find that sweet spot of equalibrium. Rock Balancing forces me in a delightful way to be completely in the moment. And isn’t that really the goal of any meditative practice?
Give it a go – get out in nature, find a few rocks and see what happens. I have small ones I use inside when it rains. What can I say – I know myself and my limits….
If rock balancing doesn’t work and you know you can’t sit still either - golf accomplishes the same thing – you have to “Be Here Now” or it ain’t gonna happen – just ask my brothers…..
It’s all about the Journey, Baby…

“Get ready for Shift Time! The cosmic energy is creating some major energy portals now until the end of June…”
“A solar eclipse is always at New Moon, and it occurs when the Moon, of perfect size and distance, passes between the Sun and us here on Earth and blocks out the rays of our Sun. Almost every indigenous culture honors and worships the Sun our source of life-light, heat, energy. “
“The very electro-magnetics of our Earth and our bodies are connected to the Sun, so when there is an interruption of that communication flow with an eclipse situation, a brief opportunity for a reset of our entire system is experienced. Upgrades take place, frequencies shift, the past is easily shed; we can step rapidly through to the other side newly unencumbered. A completion and a new beginning simultaneously unfold…”
“It’s a time of new beginning. Energy can shift on a dime. With the right use of intention, we can make good use of this portal for perceptual shift to take place in our old ways of thinking – about our self, our world, the past, the future.”
“Let’s keep in mind that this eclipse at 0º Gemini is aligned with the Pleiades star system that source of ancient wisdom with which many of the most powerful temples on the planet are aligned. (the Pyramids at Giza, Teotihuacán, Tikal, Palenque, Stonehenge, the Parthenon, …have we built anything lately?) Put yourself in a powerful place, get quiet, empty, and centered and avail yourself to some of the most focused energy of the times.”
“Our Gemini thinking/communication systems are being further upgraded to realize the direct link between our thoughts and our creations. We break free of old thought forms and our old story by greater awareness of our own spiritual connections and by taking the longer, big-picture, philosophical view that opposite sign Sagittarius provides. You cultural creatives who have been consciously accessing the quantum field in your lives for some time may feel great joy at the quick magic at your mental fingertips…”
T”he Sun and Moon at 0º Gemini are riding with the South Node 5º. South Node represents what we have brought forward from the past to resolve and complete in this lifetime because we are ready. The luminaries, Sun/Moon are turning the spotlight on the issues of how we think and use our minds to keep the old hurts and stories roiling in our heads.”
” A strong square from Neptune (through August) points to our addictions and says, ‘Enough!’ Yes, we may have been through some tough collective lifetimes through the age of Pisces, but the Age of the Martyr has had its day, and we need to forgive and release those experiences collectively. The masculine played an important role in the dance of the patriarchy and it needs now to be healed and brought into balance in all of us.”
“Embracing spiritual practice and focusing one’s creative intelligence (same thing) couldn’t be more important at this time. It’s a time of the West on the medicine wheel where we need to let go and dream a new dream. Lift your hearts to the Sun on this powerful eclipse and expand your relationship to All That Is.”

Today graces us with a “Super Full Moon” – the closest a full moon has been to earth in 100 years – if you believe what you read. I have many aquaintences who poo-poo my pleas to be aware on a full moon – dismissing them as so much backyard voodoo hoodoo – well – poopoo. Here’s some food for thought. The moon’s gravitational pull is strong enough to ‘lift’ entire oceans of water away from the earth thereby creating our tides. This was conveyed to me by an engineer so correct me if he’s wrong. Humans are about 60% water and our brains alone are 70% – so – if logic bears out – compared to an ocean – our puny little bodies and minds just might be slightly impacted by a glorious full moon. Maybe so, maybe no…
“This potent full Moon, which is also another superMoon, meaning it is close to the Earth and therefore exerts a stronger pull on us, calls us to give birth to the powerful destiny seeded within each of us. This is the year to do it and now is the time to let go of the fears and the demons that keep us caught up in the delusions of our patriarchal society. We can band together with like-minded people (Venus in Gemini) and create a life that is meaningful, creative and strong (Mars in Virgo).”
“This Taurus/Scorpio Full Moon asks us to become aware of the people and things we give the highest value to, and to look at the emotional trauma that keeps us apart. It’s time to question our values and beliefs about money, power, happiness and our connection to each other and to the Earth. There are powerful forces at work determined to keep the old system alive, regardless of how many people and places it destroys. But we are equally powerful, and the Cosmos is lending us energy to break-through our paralysis and stand up for our beliefs. “
I think of a full moon kind of like a cosmic pregnancy. Or, an enema . I’m either birthing something or purging something. In any case I enjoy being conscious of the power and working with it rather than simply reacting to the myriad effects. Whether or not there is any real hoodoo in a full moon – the possibility gives a person the opportunity to pause in the habitrail of our minds and patterns of thinking and emoting. If we pause long enough we just might be able to jettison some of our personal poopoo and create space for some real magic to happen. Just a thought…..

Enstein said You can’t change something with the same thinking that created it in the first place. This super full moon is a chance to think about even one thing differently. It could even be how you see and perceive a full moon and its relationship to your personal water – and who knows what that could change. As my lovely friend MaryAnn says “look for an ocean of peace.” In any case – please – keep your hands inside the ride at all times!
